Terms of Service

Kiwi Malayali is a free community-built directory of service providers in New Zealand, with ratings and reviews submitted by users. We provide a hosting platform — we are not a party to the service contracts you enter into with providers, and we don't guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any service listed.

Some features (leaving reviews, claiming a listing, submitting a business) require an account. You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.

Reviews on Kiwi Malayali are the opinions of the users who post them. They are not endorsements or verified claims by Kiwi Malayali.

We aggregate community submissions but we don't investigate or verify the accuracy of each individual review, rating, or recommendation. Users should independently verify information before relying on it.

Provider listings are compiled from community submissions and may be out of date, incomplete, or incorrect. To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law:

• We make no warranty, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any listing or review.
• We make no warranty that any provider will meet your requirements, deliver acceptable quality, or comply with any law or professional standard.
• You use provider information at your own risk and should confirm credentials, licences, insurance, pricing, and references directly with the provider.

When you post or submit content, you agree not to:

• Post defamatory, harassing, threatening, or misleading content.
• Post content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy.
• Impersonate another person or business.
• Leave fake reviews — whether inflating your own business or attacking a competitor.
• Scrape or automatically extract data from the Platform without written permission.
• Use the Platform to send spam, advertising, or solicitations unrelated to a listing.

Breaching these rules may result in content removal, account suspension, or legal action.

You keep ownership of content you submit (reviews, replies, business information). By posting, you grant Kiwi Malayali a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and adapt that content for the purpose of running and promoting the Platform. This licence continues for content you've posted even after you delete your account, unless you also ask for the content to be deleted.

We may, but are not obligated to, review, moderate, hide, or remove content at our discretion — for example if it breaches these Terms, appears unlawful, or is reported to us. We do not guarantee that specific content will be removed or that specific complaints will result in action. Moderation decisions are final unless clearly inconsistent with these Terms.

If you believe a review or listing is defamatory, false, spam, harassing, or otherwise violates these Terms, email hello@kiwimalayali.com with:

• The URL of the review or listing.
• The specific content you object to.
• Why you believe it breaches these Terms or the law.
• Your name and contact details (so we can follow up).

We aim to respond within 7 business days. If we agree the content breaches these Terms or the law, we will hide or remove it. If we disagree, we will tell you why.

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Kiwi Malayali is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damage arising from your use of the Platform — including loss of profit, business, or reputation, and including losses you suffer as a result of relying on a listing, review, or rating.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 where those rights apply.

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We can suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if your content creates legal risk, or if operating your account is no longer viable for us.

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. The date at the top reflects the current version. Continuing to use the Platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
